The article presents reflections on the classical and popular guitar, based on concepts of Intercultural Hybridity and Intertextuality, and on classroom experiences and rehearsals with an ensemble of guitars at a public university in Brazil (Federal University of Mato Grosso), with musical works in dialogue with the theoretical reference. The aim of the text was to reflect on the emblematic repertoire of formal higher education (bachelor's degree) that has its origin in the Western cultural heritage, however, constantly permeated by local, national and transnational realities, in which cultural borders are opaque. This training process becomes inclusive and has an impact on future professional activities, emanating from the subsidies that were offered.
