Creation of one Trombone Ensemble: Importance of Group Music in the Development of Musical Skills and Social Interactions of the Students

Abstract

This article is based on an educational project (PEDU) and Research (PINV) qualitative, conducted at the Division of Artistic Expressions (DEA), the Arts Education Services Direction and Multimedia (DSEAM) of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, under a master’s degree in education (1), a group of nine students of different ages, attending Trombone activity. It is intended, on the one hand, to diversify teaching and learning strategies that could benefit from learning the trombone and music in general, with the creation of an Ensemble of Trombones and, on the other hand, to understand and reflect on how the practice set of music contributed to the development of musical skills and social learning among trombonists, supported by collaboration and cooperation. As main results, it seems clear that the developed action gave
students new experiences and musical experiences, which aim to have contributed to the acquisition / development of new musical skills and relevant social interactions.
