Drawing and Handcraft Curricula according to Francisco Campos Reform

Due to the Francisco Campos Teaching Reform, occured in Minas Gerais in 1927/28, Drawing and Handicraft featured in educational context. The purpose of this article is to explicit the art teaching concepts that would be developed in schools, focusing on Drawing and Handicraft programs which were published in 1928. The methodological approach adopted in this work is consisted in documentary analysis. As a conclusion, it was revealed that the teaching of art developed in the Reform had an utilitarian character, since it aimed to meet demands from that society, which was in process of modernization through professional preparation.
