This investigative study is part of a Supervised Teaching Practice internship that was carried out in the 2020-2021 academic year at the Seia Music Conservatory “Collegium Musicum”. We started from Traditional Portuguese Music and created and implemented mechanisms and strategies, with a view to overcoming problems in the development of students’ auditory perception.
To collect data, we created questionnaire surveys to be applied to the class, and learning assessment forms were also used, which, together, led to obtaining results that tend to be descriptive. From the results obtained, conclusions were inferred that point to traditional Portuguese music as a teaching resource through which students show good signs of developing their auditory perception and that the use of this musical material proves to be motivating for those who were the target of the study.
